OEM of testing equipment for the semiconductor industry
The company is not named and no financial detail is published. What follows is what the owner wanted, what the process ran into, and how it resolved.
What happened
Our client was a 50+-year-old industry leader in semiconductor testing equipment. One of the only companies of its kind still based in the U.S. at that time. The owner’s failing health dictated the need for speed. The company was successfully sold to a strategic buyer, a world leader in the same sector, based outside the United States. While most Accelerated clients do not want to sell to buyers outside the U.S., there are instances in which doing so ensures that technologies developed over decades will continue to be used worldwide.
Every closed engagement is described this way. The company is never named, and no figure that could identify it is published (except where permission is granted) — during the process or after it.
The NDA and teaser came down at completion of the transaction. What a seller is owed in confidence during a sale, they are owed afterward.
