With the Trump presidency, there is a renewed commitment to a strong US manufacturing base with a focus on tax relief, reshoring, and trade reform.

Here are 7 manufacturing sectors that will thrive under a Trump Presidency:

  1. Aerospace & Defense – With Trump’s desire for a strong military, increased spending in these sectors is likely. The “Peace Through Strength” philosophy will mean bringing US military capabilities to their highest point in American history.
  2. Automation & Robotics – With a renewed focus on our manufacturing base combined with the skills gap that still exists, companies manufacturing automation & robotics equipment and the implementors of same will have increased opportunities.
  3. Automotive – With EV mandates eliminated, trade reforms, and tax incentives for manufacturing investment, the US automotive industry will be revitalized.
  4. Electronics – Electronic contract manufacturing will thrive, driven by the needs of the automotive, aerospace & defense, and industrial machinery sectors.
  5. Heavy Equipment & Industrial Machinery – Growth in these sectors will be driven by infrastructure repair and replacement of roads, bridges, water & sewer, and more.
  6. Oil & Gas – “Drill baby drill,” will be the new focus, and any manufacturer providing equipment to this sector will thrive in the Trump economy.
  7. Semi-Conductor – AI will fuel growth in this sector. According to the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) the global semiconductor market is expected to grow by over 11% in 2025, with AI driving the growth. AI servers outpaced smartphones and notebooks in 2024. Although US/China tensions add risks to this sector, it will likely still experience growth with the $500 billion Stargate investment announced in January.

In addition, job shops serving the 7  sectors that will thrive under a Trump Presidency will have increased opportunities and fare well in the Trump economy.
