What happened
Sometimes the projected growth rate in a particular sector makes a project really fun to work on. With our nation’s aging infrastructure, companies that could develop a replacement for a pump or valve controlling a major city's water supply when the original manufacturer went out of business decades ago were in high demand (and they still are). We dealt with every major player in the industry, including international giants.
What makes a deal like this fun for an M&A team is hitting our marketing target and the resulting competition. Three LOIs were submitted in one week, and the client got to choose whom he wanted to sell to.
Every closed engagement is described this way. The company is never named, and no figure that could identify it is published (except where permission is granted) — during the process or after it.
The NDA and teaser came down at completion of the transaction. What a seller is owed in confidence during a sale, they are owed afterward.
